Description
This specialization explores how a leader multiplies their abilities by leading through others and that one’s executive presence is essential to be a leader of leaders. The first key to success is building a team of exceptional, diverse leaders who are deeply involved in talent acquisition, development and retention activities. Learners will study how organizational leaders use different decision-making processes for different situations and that they are ultimately accountable for all results. Techniques for building enduring relationships that have a multiplicative impact on business success will be examined. This specialization provides insight into big picture considerations that organizational leaders must take into account when strategizing, planning and performing large scale technical endeavors.

Each week students will explore leadership topics through knowledge-check quizzes, readings, and responding to a real life leadership scenario with a one page paper. The leadership scenario responses are graded on an understanding of the topic, application of your strengths and personality type and a professionally written response. These one page responses will be graded by 3 peer reviewers against a rubric. Writing a very good one-page paper can be more difficult than writing a much longer piece. This is one of the most important and practical types of writing to master. Being a peer reviewer encourages you to be a critical thinker and enhances your communication skills. Peer reviews teach you how to communicate positive and constructive feedback, a critical leadership skill.
